Recently, some harsh words are exchanged and others are emotionally hurt. Sudden changes in personal stances may awe students with surprise while shock others with disgust. The strong tone really indicates the frustration. The anger has reached a boiling point and lava is spewing out ferociously. The era of perceived bonding is over.
I am not here to be a mediator. Nor do I have the leverage to say something that will have a bearing on the class’s direction. I just want to express some thoughts of mine and I wish everyone may try to consider about them.
It is unwise to let the class know about what is happening at this point of time. The A level is near. Nevertheless, it is only moral correct to understand the situation. We must know how to prioritise.
Humans by nature are critics. It is alright to complain about things that just don’t unfold the way we want. I even whine about my “predicament” although it has not been confirmed that I will go to NDU. However, it is good that we can look at things from a positive point of view, as mentioned by Jiayi. It exhibits the responsibility that all appreciates. It gives an argument that the friction is not solely by one. Before we can do that, we must let out our discontentment once and for all. If not, reconciliation will merely be just another doorway to greater rifts. It is hard but we should not be shy.
Neither should we just trust our judgement on an isolated case. There must be reasons for people’s actions to deviate from the norm. I am extremely playful at times because I am bored. Maybe we should try to understand different roles by putting ourselves into others people shoes. It makes our actions more rationale then. It allows us to learn.
Everything comes in a package. In a lasting friendship, there are bound to be quarrels. Similarly, for a lasting relationship within a class, there are bound to be skirmishes. When the obstacles are overcome, the presence of the class gets pronounced. However, if we cannot pass the test, the temporary problem will be permanent. We are still in a haze. We clearly seem to be heading for the latter.
In recognition that strangers ignore about anything insignificant, I am comforted by asking myself this question. Does anybody in our class don’t care at all? No. Taking advantage of that glimmer of light is still possible.
