It was College Day yesterday. As I stepped into the college, many memories of 1805 swept through my mind.
Step into LT1, I remember we used to have chinese lessons in there, making fun of our chinese tutor. The bell would ring every 45min, and we will rejoice, awaiting the time to go home. And about the lady in the General Office, with her announcments, "auritorium" etc.
Towards the staffroom, I remember that we used to swam that area and chat with our tutors, or to listen to their "briefings".
In the hall, I remember whenever we had a big assembly, 1805 will just chat incesscently, and I will always tell you all to "SHHHHHhhhhhhh". :P
And finally, the canteen, where we will always visit the snack store to grab a bite before Mr Woo's practical lesson.
But how all of that has changed. Now, the hall has a new flooring and a new projector fitted on the stage itself. The canteen has been transformed. No longer hot and stuffy. Cupboards has been removed. Stores now have shutters and partitions to seperate them. And there is even a sort of high stool area for ppl to sit and chat. The "Pavilion" sounds alien to most of us, which when we last heard of it, it was known as the two big red umbrellas at the assembly square. But now, it houses the extension to NEXUS, the favourite hideout of our class (besides Rm 425). Seeing is believing...
Anyway, Jameson, Ee Kent and I turned up for the College Day prize giving ceremony yesterday. Mel was watching us. GOH was Minister Lim Swee Say. Susan Leong had a long speech which lasted 1/2 hr, Mr Lim's one was 15min, and I must say the prize presentation was the longest I ever seen...haha. Oya, the venue was changed to the hall instead of the auditorium last yr. But the most impt part was the refreshments. Not because of the food (I want to become slim!!!), but because we get to meet some of our tutors. Mdm Lee and Casey in particular.
Mdm Lee is still very concerned about our well-being. She asked me how were you all doing. But as we have not met for a long time, I couldn't really answer her. She was concerned as to whether we got into the uni courses we wanted, or could pursue what we wanted to pursue. Finally, she did ask me to update her on
"any happy news that the class has". So do keep in touch ppl. Haha. Ms Goh was also equally concerned, asking how were the rest of the class doing. Well, their final msg to the class?
Do keep in touch with one another and with them. They still care for us and will continue to do so.
I promised Mdm Lee that I will update her if we are all successful. Maybe periodically I guess, as the guys finish their basic training and go on into their vocations, while the girls continue to pursue their studies. In either case, if you do want to keep in touch with our teachers, you can always drop by and pay them a visit, or drop them an sms.
Lets keep in touch man! (by any means, and this blog is one of them)
Cheers!
